Five Skills. Trained Every Week.

Every exam tests five skills. We train all five, every week.

  • Pieces

Three pieces, polished to performance level. The biggest share of the marks on every board.

  • Scales & technique

Scales, arpeggios and exercises, a few minutes every lesson.

  • Sight-reading

Music you’ve never seen. Easy once you can read sheet music, which is why we teach reading first.

  • Aural

Ear training for the aural tests: clapping back, singing back, spotting changes, in short weekly bursts.

  • Theory

How music works on paper. Built into lessons, and Grade 5 theory where the board asks for it.

Questions About the Graded Path

No. Many students follow the graded syllabus and only sit the exams that matter to them. The structure is the point; the certificate is a bonus you can collect when you’re ready.

No. On the free trial we hear you play and place you at the right grade. You skip whatever you’ve already covered.

All three are well recognised. ABRSM suits classical players, Trinity suits students who like choice in their tests, and Rockschool suits pop and rock players. We decide together on the trial.

You book the exam with the board, either at an exam centre near you or as a recorded video exam where the board offers one. We help you choose the format and get the paperwork right.

Yes, any time. Both paths teach the same language of music, so nothing you’ve learned is wasted.

For a true beginner with weekly lessons and daily practice, usually about seven years. Foundation takes about five months, Grades 1–3 about seven months each, Grades 4–5 about ten months each and Grades 6–8 about a year each, because the music genuinely deepens.

If you like clear goals, yes. Each grade gives you a target, an outside examiner’s feedback and a certificate recognised worldwide. If exams aren’t for you, the Personalized Path teaches the same skills without them.

Absolutely. There’s no age limit on any board. Online piano lessons for adults follow the same route, at a pace that fits work and family.

Fees depend on the grade and the board, because a Grade 1 beginner and a Grade 7 candidate are very different amounts of work. You get a clear number at the end of your free trial. Exam entry fees are paid to the board.
